2010-06-01 () - Polskie Narty

There are over 65 chair lifts and over 700 tow lifts in Poland. Every year the number of utilities transporting skiers and snowboarders up the hills is constantly growing. The new areas arise and the existing ones grow and modernize their infrastructure. All southern Poland is mountains, but you can ski and snowboard not only in the south. Small ski areas can be found in central Poland (close to Kielce, Lublin, Poznań , in the Mazurian Lakes) but also close to the Baltic Sea (near Gdańsk, Sopot, Lidzbark Warmiński and Szczecin).

Polish slopes are varied: from easy suitable to whole families (eg. Białka Tatrzańska, Zieleniec) through those for better skiers (eg. Jaworzyna Krynicka, Czarna Góra, Ustrzyki Dolne, Zakopane) to the difficult ones (eg. Nosal in Zakopane or Stożek close to Wisła).

In most cases there are snowgroomers and artificial snow on the Polish slopes. What is extraordinary for European standards most of them are lit. After 16.00, when most of the slopes in the Alps are closed, skiing in Poland only begins. The ski areas are often opened till 22.00 or longer. In most of the ski resorts there is a variety of lodging and dining places to choose from. There are things to do in the evening too (bonfires, sledge pulled by hoseses, snowmobiles). What Poland is known for is: good food, Polish hospitality and unforgettable atmosphere.

Welcome to the Polish mountains!!
